Shannon Wu

General Partner

Shannon is a general partner at Lumina Capital. She focuses on supporting advanced technologies with the potential for global scale. She founded Mr. Progress, a boutique growth strategy consultancy that actively partners with companies to optimize their fundraising strategies and go-to-market operations. Through Mr. Progress, Shannon worked on MakerDAO's launch of DAI - the first fully-decentralized stablecoin on Ethereum.

Prior to founding Mr. Progress, Shannon served on the investment team at FOUNDER.org, an early-stage focused family office venture fund. At Founder.org, Shannon supported 40+ early-stage founders with investments, executive mentors, industry partners, and a structured curriculum. Shannon graduated from Stanford University, during which she was selected to be on the Stanford Board of Trustees.

Sam Rao

Senior Associate

Sam is a senior investment associate at Lumina Capital. Prior to joining Lumina, she consulted as a strategic finance advisor to early-stage tech companies in a variety of verticals including creator economy, IoT, AI, and consumer. She has also worked as a strategic finance associate at SoFi, where she enabled the company to develop and execute on its growth strategy though financial modeling and analysis.

Prior to SoFi, Sam was an analyst at the Morgan Stanley Technology Investment Banking Group in Menlo Park. During her time there, she specialized in helping top-tier technology companies raise equity in public and private markets via IPOs, direct listings, follow-ons, and private placements. She graduated from Brown University with a degree in Applied Math-Economics.
